The search committee for the search for the Tenth Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia is composed of two parts, the Nominating Committee and the New Ministry Committee.

The function of the Nominating Committee is to prepare the Diocesan profile, solicit candidates, screen and interview candidates, and recommend to the standing committee 3-5 candidates, any one of whom are qualified to be the next Bishop of Southern Virginia.

The New Ministry Committee is to assist in the election and transition of the New Bishop.
